Ludlow Hosts Annual Event in Recognition of Fallen Vets
The Annual Memorial Day Parade
and Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 28.
The theme of this enduring event is “Remembering those who paid the
ultimate sacrifice”, including fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines
from Ludlow, Bromley, and West Covington.
The line-up of vehicles,
participating groups, and individuals walking the parade route starts forming
at 10:00 am. There will be several
coordinators on the corner of Carneal and Elm to organize all participants. The parade itself kicks-off promptly at 11:00
a.m. from the corner of Elm and Carneal Streets. The parade route takes the participants west
on Elm, left onto Adela, right on to Oak, and stops at the Veteran’s Memorial
for the placing of wreaths in Bromley.
The parade proceeds back onto Elm and ends at the Veteran’s Memorial in
the Ludlow Park where this year’s Memorial Ceremony
takes place.
Included in the ceremony is the
Pledge of Allegiance, invocation, placement of wreaths, recognition of the
Grand Marshals, recognition of the veterans present, a guest speaker,
benediction, and the playing of taps.
The Ludlow Civic Club will host a
reception following the ceremony at the Ludlow Vets. Need more information? Interested in participating in the
