State Board of Elections Sends Postcards to Verify Voter Residence

A Message from the Kenton County Clerk's Office:

STATE BOARD OF ELECTIONS SENDS OVER

400,000 POSTCARDS TO VERFIY VOTER RESIDENCE.

There are two different postcards sent to voters that have either not voted in the last five years or have been listed as inactive due to previously returned mail.

Updating a voter record is not automatic unless a voter updates their record online at www.govoteky.com, with a new card, or updating their driver’s license or Real ID.

De-registration of a voter is also not automatic when a person moves out of state, no longer wants to be a registered voter or dies outside of Kentucky.

So, please do not throw away the postcard(s).

If the person or person(s) are no longer at your address, please write that on the card and send back to the State Board of Elections.  Postcards that indicate the voter is deceased will be verified with Vital Statistics or with evidence like a death certificate or obituary before they can be removed from the system.

You can also drop them off at the Voter Registration office at 1840 Simon Kenton Way, Covington and we can get them to the State Board of Elections.

If need to check your own registration you can do so at www.govoteky.com. If know of a friend or family member that has moved, please ask them to either call the office at 859-392-1620 or print off the Voter Removal Form located under the Voter Registration tab at www.kentoncountykyclerk.com
