The
1st Annual Ludlow River Pirate Day will take place on the
September 19, 2015 from 12:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. (Rain date: September 26, 2015.) Activities will take place on Davies
Street, the Circus Mojo parking lot, and in various businesses within the city.
Participating businesses will provide a treasure chest and a small treat for visitors. A treasure map with the participating businesses
will guide visitors to the shops where they will receive their
gift. It’s like trick or treating.
Points will be assigned to each participating location. The further shops are located from
Davies Street, the more points those locations will be worth. Visitors will
have to identify the provided item on the treasure chest and write the name of
the item on their map. They will then come back to the Davies Street location
to have their points tallied which then correlates to their pirate ranking on their
Official City of Ludlow River Pirate Certificate.
There will also be a raffle to raise money for the
Barth Syndrome Foundation. Ned, one of the owners of the Northern Kentucky
Fencing Academy has a son with Barth Syndrome.
